Women’s basketball legend, Bertha Hardy Smith was the first Lady Tiger to be drafted.  In 1979, Smith was the second round draft choice of the Women’s Basketball League’s (WBL) Washington Metros.

Rosalyn Spann (1994-98) holds the record for most points scored in a season with 2,035 points, breaking Smith’s previous standing record, 2,017 points.

The Lady Tigers have won four SWAC championships and made four trips to the NCAA national tournament.
